Make Sure Your Poop Is Clean Before The Paleo Diet!

Don’t forget, switching to the paleo diet can cause a large shock to your system. Most of us have gone our whole lives eating grains, potatoes, cottage cheese, milk, cereals, and other foods that are now considered restricted! So how do you make the change without putting so much strain on your digestive system? Most doctors will recommend that you go through a colon cleanse prior to switching to the paleo diet. This will help keep the unneeded stress off of you and your body, and will even help with cravings when you finally take the big plunge!

The colon, along with the small and large intestines, are a key portion of your body where nutrients get absorbed. If not maintained and kept clean, it cannot fulfill the tasks it needs to. When you eat unhealthy foods, fecal matter will build up in your colon and your intestines will actually release toxins into the blood stream as opposed to nutrients! I don’t know about you, but I would much rather have nutrients in my blood stream than fecal matter! Obviously, eating the right way can help this, and is one of the many reasons that so many people are choosing to get on the paleo diet today.

Some symptoms that might mean that there’s fecal matter in your bloodstream:

  • Tiredness
  • Headaches
  • PMS
  • Constipation

So, now that everybody is terrified that they have poop in their bloodstream, let me tell you how to FIX the issue before you actually make the switch over to a healthier way. The most popular ways are:

  • Colonic Irrigation
  • Enemas
  • Dietary Fiber
  • Laxative Herbs
  • Oxygen Based Colon Cleanser

Personally, the one I would recommend is the oxygen based one. It’s safe, natural, and very easy to do. The other ones have their specific side-effects, but oxygen based colon cleansers would be the best bet for people wanting to go on the paleo diet(or any diet for that matter). These colon cleansers work by taking magnesium oxide that has been treated with oxygen. The substance will react with the hydrochloric acid in the stomach to produce more oxygen. The oxygen then travels in to the bloodstream and actually helps nourish every part of the body, while cleansing it at the same time!

Oxygen based colon cleansers help the good bacteria in your digestive tract work harder, which will give them the upper hand over the bad bacteria that is in your digestive tract. It works by creating a chemical reaction that produces oxygen and will actually melt the impacted material and fecal matter in the colon and intestines. Like I said, this is a safe way to cleanse your insides, so don’t worry, we aren’t trying to melt you from the inside here! It actually turns these undesirables in your system into a gas and liquid inside your body. Obviously, these liquids and gasses will need to come out of your body somehow, so we would recommend trying to stay near a bathroom for a day or two while everything gets flushed out!

In addition to helping you prepare for the paleo diet, flushing your insides will help you with weight loss, all around energy, and an improved mood all around. After your system is flushed, it will be a heck of a lot easier transitioning into your new diet, and your body will be able to absorb the nutrients it needs much more easily!

Fun Fact:

  • Many people who have eaten an average diet for years (this doesn’t include all you fast-food junkies!) have accumulated typically anywhere from 10-20 pounds of impacted fecal matter in their colons.

What do you think about Bentonite Clay for cleansing?

    • Personally, I would not recommend it. Bentonite Clay expands when we consume it, and pumps your system with nutrients and vitamins that are supposed to help it. However, our bodies already naturally produces and harvests the nutrients that our colon needs, so we are adding stuff in our body we potentially don’t need. And Bentonite comes from volcanic ash and is used in cement, adhesives, cat litter, and ceramics. I feel oxygen based is the way to go because they simply speed up the process that our body already does naturally :)
