Delicious Paleo Diet Food.

Paleo diet food has been gaining much needed traction these past few years. What technically falls under this category? Probably more food than you thought! The modern paleo diet is more of a guideline, for you to model your paleo diet food around. The original diet didn’t include rice, beans, or legumes of any kind. Yet it’s been shown that much of this stuff is good for you in certain situations. This is where you tweak your diet on what you feel is best. For example, avocado is not technically paleo, but is now widely accepted as such. When choosing your daily foods try to stick to the original guidelines as much as possible. We’ve seen too many people that say that they’re paleo because they eat dark chocolate and coconut. Remember, this is a diet, and the closer you stick to it, the better off you’ll be! Here is a list of different rock-solid paleo diet food to eat:

  • Lean Meats
  • Lean Pork
  • Lean Poultry
  • Eggs
  • Organ Meats
  • Buffalo
  • Elk
  • Pheasant
  • Venison
  • Wild Turkey
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • All Fruits
  • Almost All Vegetables
  • All Nuts and Seeds

Here’s a list of items that do not technically fall into this diet:

  • All processed foods made with any dairy products
  • Butter
  • Cheese
  • Creamer
  • Milk
  • Yogurt
  • Grains
  • All Beans
  • Peanuts
  • Peas
  • Lentils
  • Potatoes
  • Sweet Potatoes/Yams *Up for Argument (Some people believe they fall in the diet, and some people don’t.)
  • Cheese
  • Hot Dogs
  • Olives
  • Sugary Soft Drinks
  • Honey
  • Sugar
  • Candy

Obviously this isn’t a strict list of paleo diet food that you have to follow. Incorporate the foods into your diet that YOU want to eat. People follow this diet because it is healthy, not to torture themselves! You may want to consider putting cheat days into your diet. For example, stay clean Monday through Saturday, then pig out on Sunday. Cheat days have been implemented by bodybuilders and professional athletes for years. They allow you have something to look forward to at the end of the week (think of it as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow). Maybe you’ve been eyeing a piece of cake at the bakery down the street. Well, if you decide to eat it on your cheat day, this helps motivate you to stay clean up until that point. You can create cheat days into your diet any way you’d like. Don’t be too discouraged if you slip up on your diet and don’t follow it 100%, just get back on that horse and remember that a diet takes work, and nobody is perfect. Eating strictly paleo diet food is very good for you, and studies have shown it is the healthiest diet out there.
